Restoring an existing Solana wallet

Updated over 3 months ago

Importing a Seed Phrase During First Boot

If you’re setting up your Solana Seeker for the first time, you can import an existing seed phrase during the initial setup process.

  • When prompted to set up your Seed Vault, select Import a Seed Phrase.

  • Enter Your Seed Phrase:

    • Type your 12 or 24-word seed phrase. Ensure correct spelling and order.

    • Use a secure environment (e.g., private location) to avoid exposing your seed phrase.

  • Set Security:

    • Create a password to protect the seed in the Seed Vault.

    • Optionally, enable biometrics (e.g., fingerprint or face unlock) for faster access.

  • Confirm and Save: Verify the seed phrase and security settings. The Seed Vault will securely store your seed, and your wallet will be restored.

  • Authorize Wallet Apps: Open your preferred Solana wallet app and authorize it to access the imported seed to view and manage your accounts.

Adding a Seed Phrase Later

If you’ve already set up your device and want to import an additional seed phrase (the Seed Vault supports up to 8 seeds), you can do so through the device settings.

  • Open Settings:

    • Go to the Phone Settings on your Solana Seeker and look for Seed Vault.

  • Adding a seed

    • Press the Add a Seed button

  • Choose the option to Import a Seed Phrase and enter your 12 or 24-word seed phrase carefully. Ensure correct spelling and order and be in a secure environment (e.g., private location) to avoid exposing your seed phrase.

  • Set Security:

    • Assign a password for this seed.

    • Optionally, enable biometrics for convenient access.

  • Save the Seed: Confirm the details. The Seed Vault will encrypt and store the seed securely.

  • Authorize Wallet Apps: Open your wallet app and grant it permission to access the new seed to restore and manage your accounts.
