Your seed phrase (also known as a recovery phrase) is a unique set of 12 or 24 words that gives full access to your wallet. Think of it as the master key to your crypto. Anyone with access to your seed phrase can take control of your funds so it must be protected at all costs.
Do:
Write your seed phrase down immediately after generating it.
Use durable materials like fireproof and waterproof metal plates for long-term storage.
Store copies in separate secure locations (e.g., a home safe, safety deposit box).
Keep your written backups offline. Never store them digitally.
Don’t:
Don’t take screenshots or store your seed in notes apps, cloud drives, email drafts, or messaging apps.
Don’t save it in password managers. They can be hacked or compromised.

Even if you trust the person or website, once you share your phrase, you’ve essentially given away control of your wallet and this cannot be undone.
