Troubleshooting Common dApp Issues

Updated over 3 months ago

This section addresses common issues when interacting with decentralized applications (dApps) and provides steps to resolve them.

  • Unable to Select or Change the Wallet App for Connection
If you can’t choose or switch the wallet app:

    • Go to Phone Settings > Apps > [Current Default App] > Set as Default > Clear Defaults.

    • Try reconnecting to the dApp and select your preferred wallet app.

  • Unable to Connect Using Mobile Wallet Adapter (MWA)
    If the MWA connection fails:

    • Close and reopen your browser.

    • Restart your device.

    • Use a different Chromium-based browser (e.g., Chrome, Brave, Opera).

    • Contact the dApps support team to notify them of the MWA implementation.

  • Mobile Wallet Adapter (MWA) Option Not Visible
If the MWA option is missing, the dApp may not support it. Contact the site’s administrators to request MWA support.

  • Transaction Fails with "Simulation Failed" Error
    This error may occur if:

    • The transaction is too complex.

    • For swap transactions, the slippage limit was exceeded.
Simplify the transaction or adjust slippage settings and try again.

  • "Insufficient SOL" Error
This indicates your wallet lacks enough SOL to cover transaction fees or funds.

    • Add more SOL to your wallet.

    • Ensure sufficient SOL and funds are available before retrying.

  • "Scam Site Detected" Warning
Immediately stop interacting with the site and contact the support team for assistance.

  • "Allowing This App to Take X USDC at Any Time" Prompt
This message means the dApp is requesting ongoing control over your USDC tokens.

    • Verify if this is the intended action.

    • If unsure, contact support to confirm the transaction’s legitimacy.

  • "Approving This Transaction Will Give Control of Your Staking Account" Warning
Approving this transaction grants a third party control over your staking account, allowing them to change the validator your SOL is staked with.

    • Proceed only if you trust the third party.

    • Contact support for clarification if needed.
